Why do the Adventures of Tintin continue to fascinate, decades after publication? This moving and beautifully constructed documentary highlights the potent social and political underpinnings that give Tintin's world such depth. Rare and surprisingly candid 1970s interview footage reveals the profound insecurities and anxieties that drove Hergé, Tintin's work-obsessed Belgian creator, to produce with such abundance material that has not only entertained millions of children but helped to satisfy a personal longing for self-expression.

Director Anders Østergaard will be a guest of the Festival
