"The Syrian Bride is an emotional, authentic and often humorous drama defying all borders, whether physical or mental. In Golan Heights, originally Syrian land but Israeli-controlled since 1967, Mona's arranged marriage to a Syrian TV star she's never met is the catalyst for a conflict-ridden day for her family and numerous others across both borders. In a tale of tensions between tradition, family dynamics and personal fulfillment, each member of Mona's family has his or her own story of love, desire, and duty." - Chicago Film Festival
