Fascinated by the impact of technology and media on our day-to-day lives and responsible for phrases like "the global village" and "the medium is the message", Marshall McLuhan spent a lifetime encouraging people to increase their awareness of what is so often take for granted. Few grasped the enormity of his ideas and it is only recently we have learned to recognise the overwhelming relevance of his work in the digital age. Insightful, poetic and utterly thought-provoking.

"We become what we behold. We shape our tools and thereafter our tools shape us." - Marshall McLuhan
