Set in 1973 in the lead up to the fall of Salvador Allende's Government in Chile, this engrossing story depicts a friendship that forms between two boys from different ends of the social spectrum and then breaks apart as the idealistic socialist society crumbles around them under the pressures of capitalism's unwritten rules. Chile's nominated film for the Academy Award stars Manuela Martelli (B-Happy), Aline Kuppenheim, Francisco Reyes and Maria Izquierdo.

Reviews

“Packs a quiet wallop.”

Michael Rechtshaffen, Hollywood Reporter

“The relationship between the boys and the older Silvana is touchingly handled and actress Manuella Martelli is a revelation, with a fiery provocative performance that would make condensed milk sexy. Another masterpiece of South American cinema.”
