Adelaide Film Festival 2005 | A Biennial Film Festival held in Adelaide, Australia | About Us | About Us

Established by the Premier of South Australia, the Hon Mike Rann, in May 2002, the critically acclaimed biennial Adelaide Film Festival celebrates and explores contemporary screen culture with a unique program of screenings and special events [including live performance and film, groundbreaking exhibitions and inventive installations].

Central to the AFF is a far reaching forum and workshop program which extends the opportunities for audiences and the local film industry to interact with and learn from visiting filmmakers. AFF's program incorporates not only the best of Australian and international feature film, documentary, shorts and animation but also cutting edge music video, computer games, online and new media screenings.

Our first festival in 2003 attracted over 30,000 patrons across its 8 day program of over 150 events and screenings. In 2005 in recognition of the myriad of sold out sessions and overwhelming demand we will be extending the festival to 14 days.

In 2005 we are thrilled to welcome to Adelaide and to collaborate with the prestigious Australian International Documentary Conference [February 21 - 24], and to continue to embrace a partnership with our sister event WOMADelaide [March 4 - 6].

The Adelaide Film Festival takes place in the heart of the intimate city of Adelaide with screenings, special events and forums presented in various cinemas and locations all within easy walking distance of each other.
